SparkAbility 2026: A Walk for Change was launched on 6 May 2026 by SPD and Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) during a memorandum of understanding ceremony.
The collaboration reflects an overlap in the communities served by the two organisations. While SPD supports persons with disabilities and SOS supports people in emotional crisis, leaders from both organisations said their clients may face similar challenges, including loneliness, isolation and anxiety about the future.
The partnership enables both organisations to reach more people, pool supporters and build public understanding around difficult topics. The upcoming charity walk will combine the agencies’ annual fundraising events—SPD’s SPD Ability Walk and SOS’ Spark The Change Fest—thereby strengthening their fundraising and outreach efforts.
Each walk previously raised about $300,000 and drew about 2,000 participants. For the inaugural joint initiative, the two agencies are targeting $600,000 in donations and hope to reach 4,000 people.
SparkAbility 2026 will be held at Gardens by the Bay on 19 September 2026.
