Free location trackers for families with loved ones who may wander

A new ground-up pilot, REACT CareTag, will distribute up to 500 location trackers to caregivers of people with special needs or dementia, with the aim of reducing panic when a loved one goes missing.

The programme, led by technology consultancy Activate Interactive and veteran lawyer Peggy Yee, runs from 9 March 2026 to December 2026 and requires a referral. The tags pair with Android/iOS phones, and organisers say any future expansion must keep privacy front and centre.
